The Cave

One day my teacher and I came upon a large cave. “Should I sit here quietly?” I asked. “Only if you want to,” he replied.

I walked into the cave and sat down, my teacher waiting patiently outside. After a while I asked, “Will I find enlightenment in here?” “Only if it walked in with you,” he answered. And with that he stepped away, leaving me sitting alone in the dark.
